Dear members of the IG BSSW,

the day for our next annual general meeting is close, so we want to alrea- dy provide some mouth watering in- formation and help your planning by providing information ahead of time. This meeting will be hosted by the regional group Northern Bavaria in Central Franconia. It will be from October 7th to 9th. The venue will be the “NOVINA HOTEL Herzogenaurach Herzo-Base“.

Since this hotel is fairly dif cult to reach via public transportation (taking the regional bus from Erlangen main station, line 200, to Münchener Str. in Herzogenaurach might be an option – connection details at www.vgn.de), we intend to offer a shuttle service for all members that will not attend with their own vehicle. The regional group is fortunate enough to have numerous engaged and trustworthy members from almost all regions and we can thus offer trips to and from all major train stations of the general region (Nuremberg, Fürth, Erlangen). If you may need this help please contact the organizer of the event, Christian Braun, directly. His contact information is available at the regional group or below.

The hotel agreed to provide special conditions for the event. A double room will be 85.00 Euro per night (incl. breakfast). Since the hotel offers double rooms exclusively we want to encourage you to look out for a “roommate”, because the charge for single rooms, actually a double room with a single occupant, are fairly expensive at 75.00 Euro (incl. breakfast) as compared to regular double rooms with two occupants. The trend for “roommates” fortunately is well established by now. We know it well from events such as the last annual meeting, the L-Numbers Days or the Catfish Summit in Negast.

With respect to catering: there certainly is the option to order from the regular menu for dinner on Friday, the day of arrival. This is of course optional. Subsequent catering is contained in the meeting fee of 55.00 Euro. Please make good use of it, because this alleviates additional charges such as rent for the venue. It would be helpful for further planning if you could book your rooms as well as the meeting package ahead of time, using the code “IG BSSW”. Our allotment and the special conditions are available until September 9, 2016. The meeting package encompasses:

• Lunch on Saturday, likely a hearty lunch buffet incl. one drink (beer 0.5l, soft drink 0.4l or wine 0.25l)
• Afternoon coffee, tee and snacks from the break buffet (there is also a free coffee ma- chine available all day)
• Dinner on Saturday, likely a hearty dinner buffet incl. one drink (beer 0.5l, soft drink 0.4l or wine 0.25l)

A particular highlight will be a new op- portunity during this event. Our member Patrick Gleissner invites all members to a “BSSW-Open Door”-day at Amazon Aquatics in Rednitzhembach. After breakfast and check out we will spend the Sunday there. Rednitzhembach is readily accessible from the highway close to the hotel and we can again offer the shuttle service. We plan to have, among others, a traditional Bavarian White Sausage lunch at Amazon Aquatics. There also will be one or more lectures.

We are already looking forward to interesting, fish centered discussions and conversations, certainly with the help of one or several Franconia beers deep into the night if desired, and another well rounded event with numerous members from all corners of the country and abroad!
